Successful Bar Operations by MLQU: Supporting Future Lawyers

The Manuel L. Quezon University (MLQU) School of Law recently showcased its unwavering commitment to its students with the successful conduct of the Bar Operations for the 2024 Bar Examinations. Spearheaded by the Bar Operations Committee, the initiative provided comprehensive support to the Barristers during this critical phase of their legal education.

The Bar Operations Committee was led by President Jasmine Babar, Vice President Ann Gomez, and Secretary Krisanta De Guzman, who effectively coordinated the various aspects of the program. They were supported by dedicated team members in key roles:

  • Finance: Catherine Rebosura and Albert Alonzo managed the financial aspects, ensuring all resources were allocated efficiently.
  • Logistics: Ryan Paul handled logistics, ensuring smooth operations throughout the examination period.
  • Publicity and Promotions: Hyns Acueza, Ricardo Trii Formes, and Lyjie Bernabe took charge of promoting the Bar Operations, fostering a spirit of camaraderie and support among the Barristers.
  • Academic Support: Hanna Gandia, a fourth-year Law student, led the academic initiatives, offering vital support and resources for those taking the Bar examinations.

Since the beginning of the year, the Bar Operations Committee has collaborated closely with university management to ensure that the Barristers receive all necessary support. The committee established dedicated study areas equipped with essential amenities and facilitated one-on-one mentoring sessions with law professors specializing in major Bar subjects. This initiative aimed to create an optimal learning environment for the Barristers as they prepared for the challenging exams.

As the examination dates approached, the Bar Operations Committee rolled out a series of plans designed to enhance the Barristers’ experience. One significant feature was the provision of Bar kits, which included essential study materials and resources tailored to help students during their preparations.

On the days of the Bar examinations — September 8, 11, and 15 — MLQU’s Bar Operations Committee, alongside university management and personnel, provided unwavering support to the Barristers. This included logistics management, packed meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and accommodations to ensure the Barristers could focus solely on their performance.

Additionally, the committee took care of critical tasks such as photocopying important documents, enabling the Barristers to remain organized and stress-free during the exam period. The comprehensive support provided was designed to make the Barristers comfortable and at ease, ensuring they felt supported by their university.

The successful execution of the Bar Operations by MLQU exemplifies the university’s commitment to nurturing its future legal professionals. With a well-structured support system in place, MLQU’s Barristers were empowered to face the 2024 Bar Examinations with confidence and resilience. As they embark on their legal careers, the university’s dedication to their success remains evident, and the entire MLQU community eagerly awaits their accomplishments in the legal field.
