The Manuel L. Quezon University (MLQU) proudly recognizes one of its young and accomplished academic leaders — Ms. Joy Anne Vicente, Program Coordinator of the School of Business. A Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Tax Technician (CTT), and a U.S. Certified Management Accountant (CMA), Ms. Vicente brings an impressive blend of academic excellence, professional credentials, and deep commitment to teaching and student success.
At an age when many professionals are still navigating their careers, Ms. Vicente has already completed significant academic and professional milestones. She graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Accountancy from the Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP), followed by a Post-Baccalaureate in Teacher Education also from PUP, and a Master in Business Administration (MBA) with specialization in Financial Management — all before the age of 30.
What makes her story even more inspiring is her deliberate choice to stay in the academe. At a time when professionals with her credentials could easily land high-paying roles in the corporate world, Ms. Vicente chose the path of education — to help mold future business leaders, elevate the standards of accountancy education, and share her expertise where it can create the most lasting impact: in the classroom.
Known for her passion for teaching, Ms. Vicente is deeply respected by her students and peers for her clarity in explaining complex concepts, dedication to academic integrity, and her ability to bridge theory with practical application. She serves not just as a teacher, but as a mentor and role model.
As Program Coordinator of the School of Business, she plays a key role in curriculum development, quality assurance, and academic support, all aligned with the university’s goal to provide relevant, industry-responsive education that produces graduates ready to meet the demands of the real world.
Her journey is a powerful testament that success is not only measured by titles or salaries, but by purpose — and Ms. Joy Anne Vicente has found hers in empowering the next generation of Filipino professionals.
MLQU takes great pride in having her as part of its academic family and looks forward to her continued contributions to the growth and excellence of the School of Business.
