MLQU Strengthens Alumni Engagement for Scholarship Advocacy and Grand Homecoming

In line with the continuing thrust of Manuel L. Quezon University (MLQU) to elevate academic excellence and expand student support, the Executive Vice President recently held a series of strategic meetings with key officers of the MLQU Alumni Association Inc. (MLQUAI) to discuss major alumni initiatives for the coming academic year.

A central agenda of the meeting was the scholarship program advocacy of MLQU Chairman and President, Atty. Paquito N. Ochoa Jr., who has called on MLQU’s alumni to support the university’s efforts in providing educational opportunities to underprivileged but deserving students. The response from the alumni association has been overwhelmingly positive. MLQUAI Chairman Ricardo Casabuena, a distinguished graduate of MLQU’s Chemical Engineering program, and President Fidel Racasa, an alumnus of the School of Law and incumbent President of the MLQUAI, both expressed their full support for the initiative. They emphasized the importance of alumni involvement in shaping the university’s future and in extending a helping hand to students who need it the most.

Discussions also included the initial preparations for the Grand Alumni Homecoming set for early next year. The event is expected to bring together generations of Quezonians in a meaningful celebration of MLQU’s legacy and achievements. The EVP and the alumni officers acknowledged the scope of work required to mount such a major gathering and expressed commitment to ensure its success.

As the meeting progressed, the alumni likewise shared reflections on the many accomplished graduates of MLQU who have gone on to make significant contributions in their respective fields—in government, politics, business, the legal profession, academia, and the entertainment industry. These inspiring stories of success serve as a testament to the university’s enduring impact and the quality of education it continues to provide.
