Manuel L. Quezon University celebrated its annual Recognition Day on June 19 at the MLQU Campus with pride and joy as it honored the outstanding achievements of its students from Senior High School, Undergraduate, Graduate, and Juris Doctor programs. The event was held as part of the culminating activities for Batch 2025, whose graduation theme is “Shaping the Nation: Quezonians at the Forefront of Change.”
The day began with a solemn Baccalaureate Mass held in the morning at the Chapel of Las Casas Juico, offering a moment of thanksgiving, reflection, and blessing for the graduating students. Faculty, administrators, students, and their families gathered to mark this milestone, asking for guidance as the graduates prepare to embark on new journeys.
In his welcome message at the Recognition Ceremonies in the afternoon, Vice President for Academic Affairs, Arch. John Joseph T. Fernandez, reminded the students of the greater purpose of education. “Excellence is not only measured by medals and honors but by how you uplift others and how you lead change in your own communities. Your journey as Quezonians does not end here — it only begins,” he said.
The Recognition Day was a celebration of hard work, perseverance, and excellence. Students who excelled academically and demonstrated exemplary leadership, service, and dedication were called onstage to receive their awards before proud families and mentors.
Delivering the closing message, Executive Vice President Lucille P. Ortile praised the awardees and encouraged all students to carry the values of MLQU beyond the walls of the university. “Your success is not only a personal triumph but a reflection of the Quezonian spirit — resilient, principled, and future-ready,” she said. “Let this recognition inspire you to go further, to lead with compassion, and to shape a nation that needs young people like you — brilliant, brave, and committed to change.”
EVP Ortile also extended her appreciation to the faculty, staff, and parents who have guided and supported the students throughout their academic journey, emphasizing that the day’s celebration was a shared achievement.
As Manuel L. Quezon University continues to shape the next generation of leaders, thinkers, and innovators, Recognition Day 2025 served as a meaningful reminder of the University’s enduring mission: to produce graduates who are not only competent in their fields but also agents of positive change in society.
