MLQU Chairman and President Leads Bar Operations Committee Meeting Ahead of September 2025 Bar Exams

With the September 2025 Bar Examinations fast approaching, Chairman and President Paquito N. Ochoa, Jr. personally convened a critical meeting with the Bar Operations Committee of Manuel L. Quezon University’s School of Law to finalize strategic and logistical preparations.

In a show of direct leadership and commitment, the Chairman and President himself defined the operational framework that will guide the committee’s work in the final stretch leading to the Bar. The framework focuses on two key areas: (1) strategic academic support, and (2) logistical and welfare operations for MLQU barristers.

One of the central directives discussed in the meeting is the hiring of a seasoned full-time lawyer who will head the Bar Operations Committee, particularly to oversee and strengthen the academic component of Bar readiness. This move reinforces the administration’s commitment to providing specialized, targeted support to candidates preparing for one of the most rigorous national licensure exams.

With less than two months remaining, the President issued a firm “all hands on deck” instruction, calling on the entire university community — faculty, administrators, and staff — to rally behind MLQU’s Bar candidates. Academic review, psychological wellness, daily logistics, and moral support are all components of this multi-pronged effort.

“This is how we support our Barristers at MLQU — not just in word, but in action,” Chairman and President Ochoa emphasized. “We invest time, people, and resources because we believe in our students and in the legacy of excellence that this university upholds.”

These intensified Bar operations are not new to MLQU. In recent years, the University’s bar takers have consistently surpassed the national average, a testament to the effectiveness of its integrated approach — one that blends rigorous academic preparation with holistic care.

The Chairman’s direct involvement and the strategic focus of the Bar Operations Committee reflect MLQU’s unwavering dedication to producing lawyers who are not only Bar-ready, but service-ready — men and women who will live out the university’s enduring motto: Pro Patria et Jure.
