The Manuel L. Quezon University (MLQU) School of Law formally sent off its barristers for the 2025 Bar Examinations in a heartfelt and inspiring event organized by the Bar Operations Committee held in Las Casas Filipinas Juico. The annual send-off serves not only as a tradition but also as a symbolic moment of unity, support, and encouragement from the entire MLQU community to its aspiring lawyers.
The Bar Operations Committee, composed of dedicated law students, has been working tirelessly under the full-time oversight and supervision of Atty. Charmagne Cuevas, who serves as Administrator. Assisting her is PLM Dean Atty. Ernesto “Bong” Lopez, a long-time MLQU faculty member and three-time Bar Examiner, who brings with him a wealth of expertise and practical insight as consultant.
The Bar Operations enjoys the unwavering support of MLQU President and Chairman, Atty. Paquito N. Ochoa, Jr., who personally gives full attention to its operations and activities. He is assisted in this effort by School of Law Dean, Atty. Jose Perpetuo Lotilla, and SOL Program Coordinator, Atty. Teresa Marie Cacdac, ensuring that both academic preparation and logistical arrangements are executed to the highest standards.
Since the start of the month, the Bar Ops team has been on its toes, focusing on two key areas — Academic and Logistics — to ensure that the barristers are fully prepared for the rigors of the Bar. The academic program is anchored on three crucial components:
For these sessions, only the “best of the best” lecturers were invited — seasoned practitioners, professors, and experts in their respective fields — ensuring that the barristers received top-tier guidance in their final stretch of preparation.
The send-off event was filled with words of encouragement, prayers, and symbolic gestures of support. The MLQU community — faculty, students, and alumni alike — joined together in wishing the barristers well, reminding them that they carry with them not just their personal dreams, but also the pride and honor of the University.
As they step into the examination halls this September, the barristers know they are not alone. Behind them stands a network of mentors, peers, and an institution steadfast in its commitment to their success.
Pro Patria et Jure—for Country and Law—MLQU remains steadfast in producing lawyers who will serve with competence, integrity, and dedication to the nation.
