MLQU and St. Patrick School of Quezon City Sign MOA for Student Immersions, Competitions, and Career Talks

Manuel L. Quezon University (MLQU) continues to strengthen its partnerships with leading educational institutions as it recently signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with St. Patrick School of Quezon City. This agreement paves the way for several collaborative initiatives aimed at enhancing the learning experiences and career opportunities for students from both institutions.  The MOA was signed by Ms. Sofia Caccam, Head of the Office of Student Affairs and Services (OSAS) of MLQU and Dr. Dary Dacanay, Director for Academics of St. Patrick School.

The MOA outlines key areas of cooperation, starting with the immersion of St. Patrick School’s students into MLQU’s diverse academic programs and partner companies. This immersion program is designed to provide real-world exposure to students, allowing them to gain insights into various industries, develop hands-on experience, and better understand potential career paths. The students will benefit from mentorship opportunities, internships, and workplace experiences, helping them to prepare for life beyond the classroom.

In addition, MLQU will actively participate in St. Patrick School’s career talks, providing students with valuable information on different academic and career tracks. This partnership will offer St. Patrick’s students an in-depth understanding of higher education pathways, particularly at MLQU, which offers a range of undergraduate and graduate programs that cater to emerging industries.

The agreement also includes the involvement of St. Patrick School’s Grade 11 and 12 students in local and international competitions. These include debates, research contests, and other academic challenges. MLQU students participated in the debate competitions last school year, and St. Patrick’s research competition scheduled for January 2025 is expected to be another highlight. These competitions will offer students opportunities to showcase their academic and creative talents on a broader stage, fostering a competitive spirit and international collaboration.

St. Patrick School, located at 43 General Avenue in Quezon City, is a 56-year-old educational institution long known for its exceptional sports program. In recent years, it has expanded its focus to include international affairs, robotics, research, and a comprehensive K to 12 curriculum. The school also emphasizes the arts, with programs nurturing talented artists, singers, and dancers, and is known for its innovative approaches to values formation and student guidance.

The signing of this MOA solidifies the commitment of both MLQU and St. Patrick School to provide high-quality education and holistic development to their students, continuing a legacy of academic excellence and forward-thinking initiatives.
