MLQU Alumni Association Office Blessed, Fellowship Luncheon Held

On September 14, 2024, the newly designated office of the Manuel L. Quezon University Alumni Association Inc. (MLQUAAI) was formally blessed in a solemn ceremony. The office, allocated by the MLQU Management for the use of the alumni association, serves as a central hub for fostering connections among the university’s alumni and enhancing their contributions to the institution.

The blessing was followed by a fellowship lunch, which was enjoyed by the officers and members of the MLQUAAI. Leading the celebration were Chairman Ric Casabuena and President Fidel Racasa, alongside the other members of the Board of Trustees. The event was graced by prominent alumni, including Mayor Benjamin Abalos, Justice Carlito Calpatura, and former Justice Art Tuquero, who joined the fellowship and reminisced about their shared experiences at MLQU.

Representatives from the university administration also attended the event, led by Executive Vice President Lucille Ortile, who delivered an update on MLQU’s latest initiatives and presented potential areas for partnership with the alumni association. Prior to the start of the MLQUAAI Board meeting, EVP Ortile highlighted opportunities for collaboration in the promotion and marketing of MLQU, particularly in helping increase the university’s visibility and supporting sponsorships for scholarships. This report was well-received by the alumni, with many expressing enthusiasm for future projects that would benefit both the university and its students.

Other MLQU officials in attendance included Vice President for Academic Affairs Architect John Joseph Fernandez, University Registrar Myra Ramos, Head of the Office of Student Affairs and Services (OSAS) Sofia Caccam, and Senior High School Principal Rhia Bala. Their presence further strengthened the bond between the alumni and the current administration, creating a sense of shared purpose and commitment to the continued success of MLQU.

The event concluded with the MLQUAAI Board meeting, where members discussed ongoing programs and plans to reinforce the alumni’s active role in supporting their alma mater. The day’s events underscored the significance of maintaining strong alumni ties and the important role of partnerships in advancing the university’s mission.
