GRAB-MOVE IT TRAINERS KICK OFF MICRO-CREDENTIAL PROGRAM AT MLQU

The first module of the much-anticipated Micro-Credential Program for Grab and Move It Trainers officially opened on Sunday at Manuel L. Quezon University (MLQU) Campus. The training, entitled “Reinforcing Core Values and Conflict Management,” marks the beginning of a five-part professional development series jointly organized by MLQU and the leadership teams of Grab and Move It.

The program drew 25 active participants from Grab’s Re-Skilling Department, Safety Training Department, and Emergency Response Unit. The energy throughout the session was high, with engaging discussions, real-life applications, and lively participation from all attendees.

Executive Vice President Lucille P. Ortile welcomed the participants, emphasizing the University’s commitment to training frontliners and mobility service providers in essential behavioral and professional competencies. She highlighted that this partnership is part of MLQU’s broader mission to support industry-aligned and responsive training for today’s workforce.

Module 1: Strengthening Core Values for Professionalism

The morning session was led by Dr. Antonio Levy S. Ingles Jr., a recognized expert in behavioral psychology and cultural anthropology. Dr. Ingles emphasized the importance of internalizing core values derived from Move It’s service philosophy. His topics included:

  • Upholding Move It-Derived Core Values
  • Cultivating a Culture of Excellence and Service

He led participants through interactive discussions and hands-on activities that allowed them to reflect on personal and organizational values, reinforcing their identity as service professionals committed to quality, integrity, and respect.

Module 2: Conflict Management

The afternoon session was led by Dr. Ma. Cristina E. Saldivar, a registered psychologist and guidance counselor with extensive experience in workplace behavioral interventions. Her lectures tackled practical approaches to managing everyday tensions and communication breakdowns in the field, with topics such as:

  • Managing Conflict by Thinking Logically
  • Effective Communication and Conflict Resolution for Riders

The session blended theoretical input with dynamic group exercises that equipped the participants with tools to de-escalate conflicts, regulate stress responses, and promote harmonious interactions with both customers and colleagues.

A Dynamic and Interactive Learning Experience

The training culminated in a recap quiz and a powerful closing segment on key takeaways, facilitated by Mr. Ferdinand L. Alversado, the day’s lead facilitator. He reinforced the day’s lessons, tying them back to the participants’ roles as first responders and frontliners in the ride-hailing industry.

Participants described the session as “engaging, relevant, and highly practical,” noting how the interactive approach made the learning experience not just informative but transformative.

The Micro-Credential Program continues in the coming weeks with four more modules tackling land transportation and traffic code, safety and first aid, psychological preparedness, and emergency response. MLQU takes pride in supporting this initiative that promotes professional growth, safety awareness, and service excellence in the ever-evolving transport industry.

Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting collaboration between MLQU and Grab-Move It!
