Formerly known as the Institute of Computer Education (ICE) in 1982, the School of Information Technology offers cost - effective quality computer education. Since its organization in 1996, the school has featured a comprehensive program with in-depth curriculum and state-of-the-art computer facilities, strictly following a one computer per student policy.

Its computer facilities are constantly upgraded to keep abreast of the latest in information technology. Its faculty have extensive industry and teaching experience. The Bachelor of Science in Computer Science degree program was introduced in MLQU in 1987. Many who have graduated with the degree now occupy responsible positions in the field of Information Systems and Technology.

 

GOALS & OBJECTIVES

The Bachelor of Science in Computer Science is a four-year degree course which aims to:

  • Develop graduates who can effectively communicate with information users in an organization and are aware of common management problems and concerns;
  • Develop graduates who truly understand and are capable of utilizing modern information technology;
  • Develop graduates who have thorough understanding of the role of information systems within an organization and of how systems can be used to support management functions.

            BACHELOR OF SCIENCE IN COMPUTER SCIENCE
            (Ladderized Program)

Description:      This program emphasizes comprehension and understanding of the principles and concepts needed in designing and formulating computer systems and applications.

BACHELOR OF SCIENCE IN
            INFORMATION MANAGEMENT (Ladderized Program)

Description:

 

    This program prepares the student for the industry practice in the different fields of Information Technology like project management, information systems planning and development and management of technical personnel. It does not only rely heavily on mathematics and science phenomena but is more on the art of applying management in Information Systems Business.

ASSOCIATE IN COMPUTER TECHNOLOGY

Description:

 

    ACT is a two (2) year course ladderized program leading to B.S.C.S. & B.S.I.M. Students will be prepared for a career in Information Technology. This program emphasizes comprehension and understanding of the principles and concepts needed in designing and formulating computer systems and applications.

AFFILIATIONS

  • Member of the Philippine Computer Society (PCS) since 1996. PCS is a premiere organization of information technology professionals with over 600 members nationwide.
  • As member of the MSDN Academic Alliance (MSDNAA). MSDNAA program is designed specifically for academic labs, and students in the curriculum areas of Computer Science, Engineering, and Information Systems to make it easier and less expensive to get Microsoft developer tools, platforms, and servers for instructional and research purposes.

 

ACTIVITIES

The School of Information Technology celebrates its SIT Month every February of the year. A series of programs of activities are line-up for the month long celebration.
